Convergence is one of the key areas under Mahatma Gandhi NREGS. Hence, all stakeholders need to work with various schemes of Agriculture, Social Justice Department, Dairy Development Department, Forest & Wildlife Department, Scheduled Caste and Schehduled Tribe Development Department, Harithakeralam Mission, LIFE Mission, Kudumbashree Mission, Horticulture Mission, Suchitwa Mission, KSRRDA, Local Self Government Institutions, etc to name a few and agencies like MPI, CDB, KEPCO, MILMA etc. The Plan of action to be taken at the district level is as follows:-
- Preliminary meetings with district level officials
- Explain the basic pillars of Mahatma Gandhi NREGS and the permissible activities
- Non-negotiable activities under Mahatma Gandhi NREGS to be clearly discussed
- On completion of the preliminary discussions, the suitable partners to be identified
- Subsequently, in-house meetings to be organized to develop each component activity under the project and the source of funds (Whether from Mahatma Gandhi NREGS, partner Department/Commodity Board, Beneficiary, Other Department/Commodity Board)
- Finally, a project report with chapters and costing to be prepared and jointly signed by the District heads of Departments
- The District, in the month of April, shall prepare a timeline for the preparation of Convergence Plan and send to the Mahatma Gandhi NREGS State Mission not later than the start of May.
- The final convergence plan to be part of the Annual Labour Budget and Shelf of projects
